Rock Of Ages

People  are  quick  to  despise  and  condemn  a broken person,  but  not  God.
Psalm 51;17  says
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

In fact God  accepts  my  broken  spirit  as  a  sacrifice . He  welcomes  me  in  my crushed  broken  state. Isn 't  that  awesome - a  real  self  esteem   booster.

This  old  hymn is  echoing  in  my  hear  this  afternoon as I  present  my  broken  spirit  as  a sacrifice  to  God.

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee;
let the water and the blood,
from thy wounded side which flowed,
be of sin the double cure;
save from wrath and make me pure.

2. Not the labours of my hands
can fulfil thy law's commands;
could my zeal no respite know,
could my tears forever flow,
all for sin could not atone;
thou must save, and thou alone.

3. Nothing in my hand I bring,
simply to the cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress;
helpless, look to thee for grace;
foul, I to the fountain fly;
wash me, Savior, or I die.

4. While I draw this fleeting breath,
when mine eyes shall close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown,
see thee on thy judgement throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee.

El Torcal de Antequera is a nature reserve in the Sierra del Torcal mountain range located south of the city of Antequera, in Spain. It is known for its unusual limestone formations and magnificent geology formed over millions of years. El Torcal de Antequera Nature Reserve has one of the most impressive landscapes in Europe. It’s not very far from human habitation either. The reserve can be reached via the village of Villanueva de la Concepción, just 10 kilometres from the town of Antequera, and 20 kilometres north of Málaga.
